The red represents the minimum of drug users (per 1,000) which starts at 30,000 in Wyoming. The green represents the maximum of drug users (per 1,000) which ends at 2,715,000 in California.

Table 1, below, summarizes the statistical findings from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH, 2007-2008). The average percentage of drug users is 8.3 percent. The first column represents current users per 1,000 and the second column represents current users as percent of population.
